Go to the Zoo
During your visit, you’ll be able to walk inside the forest and observe the different species of plants and trees that are located there. Another option of visiting the zoo is to walk across the bridges, where you will be able to see the forest and everything in it from 65 feet high. Some of these include orchids, roses, etc. If you are a plant lover, you can bring a journal with you to keep track of your findings.
The Guadeloupe Zoo is a very important and valued conservation spot that tourists can visit, that contains the island’s endemic animals. Most of these animals are not found anywhere else in the world. You will see scorpions and an array of insects that you have never seen before.
If you are traveling to Guadeloupe as a family, your children can play in the “Tarzan House,” which is a playground where they can make friends with other kids visiting and also play fun activities with them.
For when you get thirsty or hungry, there is a restaurant located at the front of the zoo that will provide you with tropical refreshing drinks. Creole meals and different kinds of snacks of your choice are also served at the restaurant.
Watch the Whales
The island of Guadeloupe is home to about 17 species of whales that you can observe on your tour from a place called Deshaies Marina. Guides will be available to give you more information on the whales and what makes each of the species significant. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. You will be transported by boat and will be given binoculars and a hydrophone to locate the whales. The headphones are provided for you so you can hear the sounds that the whales make, making it easier for you to locate them.
During the entire time that you are watching the whales, you will be provided with refreshments and your children will be given snacks.
Go on Park Adventures
Spend a day with your family in an adventurous water park. Water activities include the “Fun Gliss” or the “Mango Splash.” There are many activities to do here for every member of the family.
Not only is Kurakera Land a water park with an array of activities to do, it also has an ornamental and medicinal Creole garden and an more than 200 species of animals that you can observe. These animals include peacocks, swans, llamas, and ponies. During your time at the park, you can also play gulf, petanque or ping pong.
