Trans Siberian Railway - Train # 9 from Irkutsk to Novosibirsk:

 • Our train from Irkutsk to Novosibirsk is the Number 9. Painted bright Blue and White as seen above; it reads Baikal in giant letters on the side.
• Travelers in second class (included in base price) will occupy 4 - berth compartments for their journey from Irkutsk to Novosibirsk. For an additional $250 per passenger, upgrades are available from 4 -berth compartments to 2 berth compartments.
• The journey is expected to take about 30.5 hours, with short stops in Taishet and Krasnoyarsk along the way.
• Clean bedding is provided in each compartment, and a small table. The dining car is typically the main gathering place on the train, where modestly priced meals include a rather standard 'meat and potatoes' type of fare. Dining cars are open from 9am to 9pm (local time) and sales are paid in roubles. Snacks are also available from the kiosks at station halts. Ocassionally, street vendors (babushkas on upturned buckets) offer homemade meals of anything from berries to smoked fish.
• You will be tended by the provodnitsa; a train attendant who will assist with cleaning, making tea, handing out linen and keeping track of passengers at stops.
• Much like a long plane right, bathrooms are common and there are currently no showers aboard this train. |

A limited number of First class train berths are available for an additional $250 per person

Initial $500 deposit is required at time of reservation to hold your reservation.
Second payment of $700.00 due January 2, 2008.
Final payment due May 15th, 2008

 Tour and Travel protection insurance is available for $165pp. Trip insurance protects you in the event of trip cancellations, delays, and medical expenses. Insurance must be purchased before the time of your final deposit and offers protection for pre-existing medical conditions if purchased within 2 weeks of your initial deposit.
